Hindi and English are the official languages of India. The government also recognizes 17 other languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Nepali, Manipuri, Konkani, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu). Apart from these languages, about 1,652 dialects are spoken in the country.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations was established in 1958 by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate to ensure that its examinations become adapted to the educational needs of our country and assign the ultimate control of the same on the Council.
The Council administers two public examinations - The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) at the end of Class X and, subsequently, the Indian School Certificate (ISC) at the end of Class XII. Both examinations are held annually in March.
SRI TARALABALU SCHOOL IS THE FIRST AND SO FAR THE ONLY SCHOOL IN THE ENTIRE DAVANGERE DISTRICT, WHICH IS AFFILIATED TO THE COUNCIL FOR THE INDIAN SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS, (ICSE) NEW DELHI, vide No. KA 226/2011.
It is an ideal educational institution surging ahead with the nation. It is committed to the objective of providing a value based quality education to the children.
The school has IK-I and IK-II (LKG and UKG), Grade I to IX standards for the academic year 2012-13. Higher classes get added in due course of time. It is planning to introduce ISC classes, i.e., Gr. XI and Gr. XII classes from the academic year 2014-15.
Curriculum
The academic year which begins in June and ends in April comprises two terms: June–October and November–April. The courses of studies extend from Nursery school (K.G.) to Grade X, at the end of which pupils sit for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E.) Examination, New Delhi.
The pattern of studies ranges from an informal kind at the Nursery stage to a semi-formal kind based on environmental approach in early primary school and goes on to a progressively more formal kind in the late primary, middle and secondary stages. Homework is the integral part of the curriculum designed.
The I.C.S.E syllabus is designed to provide an examination in a course of general education through the medium of English without any diversification of studies, in accordance with the recommendations of the Kothari Commission.
Candidates for the examination are expected to have completed satisfactorily courses in a third language (Hindi), Art and Craft, Physical Education, Education in Moral and Spiritual Values, Socially Useful and Productive Work and Community Service. These are assessed internally by the school and the results count towards the award of the I.C.S.E. pass certificate. Internal assessment is now a part of the I.C.S.E. curriculum. Project Work is assessed from Grade- 1 to Grade 10. Field trips and social service visits and camps are organized.
English and Hindi are taught from Grade I. Kannada, the regional language is compulsory from Grade I. Art, Craft, Music, Physical Training, Music, Outdoor Games and Club activities, Summer Camps and Holiday Workshops are a regular feature. The school strictly adhered and adopted the ICSE curriculum. The prescribed syllabus for Gr. IX & X is available on the official website of ICSE, i.e., www.cisce.org. We offer the Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination which ensures a well-rounded education. The students sit for examination in six subjects. This is the examination conducted all over India and abroad, where ICSE schools are located.
The programme stresses on Experiential and Collaborative Learning through workshops, interactive sessions, role plays, project work, group discussions and games. The integrated curriculum enables students to think and solve problems, and comprehend concepts with manifold perspective. The activity based learning enables students to enjoy the subjects and learn without any fear. We seek to redefine achievements based on the capability for lifelong learning and acquisition of life skills rather-than mere academic excellence. Focus is oriented on students and an activity based curriculum for the holistic growth of the child in enriching and challenging atmosphere. Technology is an integral part of the curriculum from the nursery classes onwards and is used as a vital tool to enhance and accelerate the learning process.

Nursery:
Kindergarten Curriculum
The child’s innate curiosity is ignited in his early years and he develops a love for learning which gives him a great head start in our kindergarten. Our kindergarten aims to nurture each child’s potential, through intimacy, love, care and encouragement. The beginning years have a crucial influence on later development and learning. Early childhood foundation makes a great difference to the future achievement of children. With our efforts which are well co-operated by the parents, our school children become self-motivated learners and face the world with confidence.
Each theme is taught through a unit of inquiry. Within these themes children learn all the major subject areas like Science, Mathematics, English, Kannada and Hindi languages, art and craft. Children are encouraged to become independent learners with a whole range of skills to ensure that a firm foundation is built for the next stage of learning.
Extracurricular activities include P.E. classes. The P.E. teacher plans exercises, which help in developing their gross and fine motor skills. Enrichment classes further reinforce concepts taught in class through various hands on activities. Music and dance lessons help to develop a sense of rhythm and love for these arts.
The ICSE curriculum is seamlessly amalgamated to build the foundations for the next stage of learning. Values like honesty, responsibility and sharing are instilled in our school children. The school focuses on the total growth of the child - social, physical, emotional, cultural, in addition to the academic curriculum.
Primary Stage (For Gr. I to Gr. V)
At the primary level the emphasis is on multiple skill development, encouraging students to think creatively and critically by adopting activity based instructional strategies. The subjects offered at this stage are English as the first language, second language Kannada, Hindi as the third language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Computer Applications, Drawing & Craft, Music, SUPW, Physical & Health Education, General Knowledge and very special training on handwriting. Overall development is well supported by Co-Curricular activities. Moral values are inculcated through Value Education. By participating in various activities and competitions, students imbibe the spirit of healthy competition.

Middle Stage (For Gr. VI to Gr. VIII)
At this stage the focus is mainly on self directed and collaborative learning. Students are encouraged to be self motivated and self confident in their endeavour through experimental, co-operative and participative learning. The subjects offered at this stage are English as the first language, second language Kannada, Hindi as the third language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies, Computer Applications, Drawing & Craft, Music, SUPW, General Knowledge, Physical & Health Education. The co-curricular activities make the learners aesthetically responsive. Sports activities make the students physically fit and mentally alert. The various competitions provide students an opportunity to discover their talents in diverse fields with the right spirit.

Secondary Stage (For Gr. IX and Gr. X)
At the secondary level, students are trained to be self reliant and resourceful to manage challenges effectively to actualize their goals. The ICSE curriculum fosters divergent and perceptive thinking, problem solving skills, to comprehend concepts and to incorporate information gathered from various sources through experimental and research based learning. The course of studies at this stage are as per ICSE guidelines.

Food Chart
Dear Parents,
Please send the healthy food (oil-less, vegetable rich, homemade food items) in a clean and easily openable container/lunch box with a water bottle (better of metal make) and a clean napkin. You are also requested to send fruits/dry fruits etc., along with the main food as per the chart given below. Though it is not mandatory, but we hope that you like this schedule.

Dress code:
The school has distinct, attractive and very wonderful type of uniform – suit/skirt and blazer with a tie to knot. The students in this majestic dress will find themselves elevated and will be confident to face the challenges and to pace themselves in this competitive era.
The Dress Code includes - Navy Blue Blazer, Navy Blue Trouser/Skirt, Sky Blue Shirt, Navy Blue Tie and Maroon School Belt with Black Shoes and Blue Socks on week days.

Prayer assembly
Every day the school activities get commenced with the prayer assembly. The School prayer assembly starts at 9.45 am on weekdays, while its starts at 7.45 am on Saturdays. Prayers are a good source of passing the morals and values to the student. Morning assembly conducted in the schools everyday play a vital role in imposing good morals among the student and it gets registered in their mind very quickly. Not only this, the prayer assembly helps them to come, breathe well and to acclimatize to the school, so that, they can easily start to focus on their classes.
The prayer assembly involves various aspects like, signing the Karnataka State Anthem (Jai Bharath Jananiya Tanujathe……………, written by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu), then the National Anthem (Jana Gana Mana………………, written by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore); after this, the designated student (one from UKG to Gr. IV) will say the Thought for the Day; the designated student (one from Gr. V to Gr. IX) will read out the News Headlines of the Day, followed by the Birthday Wishes, (if any) special announcements, special speech on special occasions, and the assembly ends with a Vachana by all the students. These deliberate special assembly activities are certainly helping us to boost the confidence of our school children to face the world with immense confidence.
The another special aspect of the assembly is that while all the students of the school sing both State and National Anthems two students play background music using Key board and Tabala and also very melodious musical birthday wishes.
Play ground
The Anubhavamantapa school campus is spread over 30 acres of lush green terrain with more than 20 acres of land available as the open space for the children of the campus to play, enjoy and explore the sports person within them. All play things are provided by the school; and the theory part of the game/sport/athletic event is also taught to the students for their better understanding. The play area has all kinds of separate and multiple play courts for Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Throwball, Kho-Kho, Shuttle Badminton, Long jump pit, etc.
